Day 1

Night

  • Welcome to Oaxaca Dinner: Dinner at the restaurant of one of Mexico’s best chefs. (Includes 1 alcoholic beverage).

  • After dinner Drinks: Oaxaca-centric cocktails at the city’s swankiest lounge. (Includes 2 alcoholic beverages p/person).

 

 

Day 2

Day

  • Oaxaca Street Food Essentials: The definitive Oaxaca street food outing with specialties that you can’t find outside of Oaxaca's Valles Centrales region. We’ll also pull up to two of the city’s famed watering holes—classic downtown cantinas that are among the city’s oldest—for a round of drinks.

Evening

  • Cocktail hour: We’ll begin the evening at Oaxaca’s latest addition to the cocktail community, an in-the-know hidden gem of a bar inconspicuously tucked away behind a clothing boutique.

    Tended by one of Mexico’s rising stars of the cocktail world, a Selva-alum who struck out on her own, we’ll mix it up while imbibing some of the best Oaxaca-centric cocktails the city has to offer.

Night

  • Oaxaca Nightime Crawl: A whirlwind, food-filled nighttime excursion on the streets of Oaxaca.

Day 3

Day

  • Carne Asada in the Countryside: A traditional Oaxaca carne asada in a small Oaxacan town.

  • Mezcal distilleries: A visit to family-run palenques in two distinctly different mezcal-making hamlets in the Valles Centrales region to see how agave spirits are made.

Evening

  • Countryside Cooking: An early dinner set in a charming, out-of-the-way rural restaurant run by a cooperative of traditional cocineras.

 

 

Day 4

Day

  • Insider’s Guide to Oaxaca's Markets: A dive deep into a historic mercado that’s the crown jewel of Oaxaca’s public market system.

Evening

  • Pre-tasting Esquites / Elotes: We’ll visit one of Oaxaca’s beloved and ubiquitous esquite / elote stands for a pre-tasting snack.

Night

  • Regional Oaxacan Spirits Tasting: We’ll make a pilgrimage to a must-visit mezcal mecca for a barstool tour around the state of Oaxaca’s diverse producing regions via its agave spirits and Mexican distillates.

  • Post-tasting Vitamin T — Taquitos + Tortas: After our epic tasting tour of the state of Oaxaca and its producing regions via its distillates, we’ll cap the night off at a nearby nighttime-only stand that’s been serving sumptuous suckling pig tacos + tortas for three generations.

  • Barbacoa breakfast: Tlacolula-style barbacoa at one of the town's tastiest stalls.

  • Market Day in Tlacoula: A visit to an important regional market town outside of Oaxaca City on market day.

  • Cocinera lunch: Breakfast and regional mole tasting in Tlacolula at the home-turned-private restaurant of one of Oaxaca’s famed traditional cocineras.

Night

  • Oaxaca Finale: Modern Mexican dinner from one of Mexico’s best chefs.

Our 5-day/4-night Oaxaca Getaway is designed for those who travel to eat. Years of food intel went into its curation. Our days will be packed with food + drink activities. There will also be blocks of free time to enjoy extracurricular activities like visiting museums, boutiques, and galleries. Closer to the date, we'll offer a curated list of places, events and goings-on for personal time.

Our trips are small, intimate gatherings. Our aim is to celebrate both the social aspect of food in bringing people together and the vibrant food scene that makes Oaxaca one of the best places in the world to eat. We want you to bring your friends + make new ones.

There’s a lot of walking involved, so bring comfortable shoes. The heat and sun in Oaxaca can be intense. We strongly encourage people to bring sunglasses, sunscreen and hats if they are sensitive to the sun. Also, it’s also a city sits at 1555 meters or 5,100 feet, so please get plenty of rest and drink plenty of water before the outings.

  • We cannot accommodate guests with severe food allergies. Because ingredients can come into contact with items that cause food allergies anywhere in the supply chain, we can not accommodate food allergies of any kind on our outings.

    Because many of the fundamental ingredients in Oaxaca’s cuisine are animal-based, we can not accommodate rigid vegetarians and vegans.

    Since we are collaborating with traditional Oaxaca cooks and chefs, changes and modifications to menus, food programs, and beverages are kindly declined.

  • Absolutely! There will be available break times where you are able to roam the city or enjoy the amenities at your accommodations. We will also offer a curated recommended list of boutiques, galleries and museums to enjoy during these blocks of free time. However, we will require punctuality for our hosted events.
