Valle de Guadalupe Wine + Food Daycation

A day in Baja’s wine country tasting Mexican wines + dining Valle-style among the vines.

Meets in San Diego, CA (near the border) » 4 stops » 10 hours » Transportation included

For safety reasons, we do not accept children or anyone under 18 years of age. We welcome families with children on our private outings.

There are few places more enchanting than Valle de Guadalupe. Set in an impossibly beautiful landscape, with a winemaking tradition dating back to the 17th century, this region’s wines and vineyard-set campestre restaurants have somehow remained a well-kept secret.

Club Tengo Hambre’s 'Valle de Guadalupe Wine + Food Daycation’ is a daylong getaway exploring the wines made by Valle producers and the regional takes on ‘modern Mexican’ by Baja California chefs.

We’ll begin the day with a stop in Tijuana for breakfast to enjoy the city’s iconic tacos varios. After, we’ll head south along the coast, then tack inland to Valle de Guadalupe. There, we’ll spend the afternoon traversing Valle’s scenic roads for a wine-filled hop to two of our favorite wineries for tastings. In the end, we’ll dine at a campestre-style outdoor restaurant with vineyard views that showcase Baja California’s ingredients.

A valid passport is required.

ALL GOOD THINGS COME TO AN END

With full bellies + slight buzzes, we’ll head back to the border, where our transportation and CTH Host will drop you off at the pedestrian crossing on the Tijuana side. You will cross through the US Customs by foot. The facility's exit is right where we started, at the San Ysidro Trolley Station. Border waits can be unpredictable.

BEFORE YOU GO

Prepare for a daylong adventure to Valle de Guadalupe lasting approximately 10 hours. Please ensure you have a valid passport for entry into Mexico. Detailed information will be provided upon reservation.

Our visits to Baja’s Wine Country highlight the emerging and emblematic wine producers who have become stewards of this unique place in Mexico. We celebrate the winemakers who treat the region with respect and pursue a sustainable approach to farming and winemaking.

Our wine friends graciously open their winery doors to share their stories while embracing the social essence of gathering in Mexico.

THE CTH WAY

A blogger once described Club Tengo Hambre outings this way: 'It felt like very cool friends were showing us around their town.' That's what CTH is all about. We are a roving supper club, not a food tour. Our trips are small, intimate gatherings. Our aim is to celebrate both the social aspect of food in bringing people together and the vibrant wine + food scene that makes Baja California a growing wine region. We want you to bring your friends + make new ones.

Club Tengo Hambre’s ‘Valle de Guadalupe Wine + Food Daycation’ outing was, quite literally, decades in the making. Years of food intel went into its curation. Our day revolves around the winemakers, farmers, chefs, and people who make this part of Mexico truly special.
