Getting to our meeting spot for Baja Daycations

We are so excited to have you with us! Here are some tips for getting to our meeting spot.

It is important to leave plenty of time to get to our meeting spot—especially during US holiday weekends when travelers make their way to Baja.

Our start time indicates when we begin walking into Mexico as a group. Please arrive 10 minutes early for check-in.

Meeting spot

Our meeting spot is in front of McDonald’s at 727 E San Ysidro Blvd, San Ysidro, CA 92173. It’s right next to the San Ysidro Trolley stop plaza at the San Ysidro—Tijuana International border.

Your CTH host will be wearing a black CTH tote bag.

Don’t forget to fill out the FMM form for you and your guests attending the Daycation. You can find detailed instructions in your confirmation + reminder emails. This will help have all of our documents in place and ready for MX customs to process your entry. Here are all the details.

Getting to the meetings spot

The San Diego Trolley

Perhaps the best option! Our meeting spot is right at the San Ysidro/International Border Station. It’s $5 US dlls p/person for a round trip.

Here is the map and schedule for the Blue Line.

Tip: You can drive and park one or two stations away from the San Ysidro/International Border Station and ride the trolley to the meeting spot.

Ride-Sharing service

Using Uber or Lyft is another preferred option. You won’t regret it after a full day of eat-ing + drinking.

Driving + Parking

If you choose to drive to the meeting spot, please plan accordingly and leave plenty of time to find a parking spot. Parking lots are often full and raise their prices during holiday weekends. During weekends, especially around US and Mexican holidays, it can be very difficult to find parking available in the lots near the San Ysidro International Border.

Note: Parking price averages around $25+ US dollars (note that some charge in 6-8 hour increments depending on the lot)

There are several parking lots around our meeting area, here is a list:

Drop-off spot

Our driver will drop us off on the Mexico side of the border near the pedestrian entrance to the US. There, at the PedEast entry, you will be processed independently by U.S. Customs. Upon exiting the U.S. Customs border facility, you will be back at our original meeting spot.

Important: If you possess Global Entry or SENTRI status, bring your physical card with you for expedited re-entry into the USA via the pedestrian border. Global Entry /SENTRI is a USA-trusted traveler program and is only valid for re-entry into the USA, the Mexican government does not recognize Global Entry /SENTRI cards as a valid form of identification.

Wait times to cross into the USA are unpredictable and vary from time to time. Your host will point you to the optional shuttle services that provide cross-border transportation if available. Cost per person starts at $10 USD per person (cash-only).
